Grinder, good buddy, trivial it may be but it is a lie.
Worse, it is a lie that goes against the whole thrust of Rolls' 3-year plan, involving as that does the playing down of premature expectations, emphasising that the task at hand being the building of A-grade players ra-de-ra-de-ra - you know what I'm saying. Rollercoaster, exciting, A-grade, 3 years - all those buzz words and carefully constructed media packages you have been getting from Rolls and co.
All of those really quite sensible approches undone by Channel 10 whacking on an interview with Sheeds pumping up Freo (and Pav's price) to deflect attention from Essencum's misfortunes, then following it with an excerpt of an interview featuring an upbeat Connolly actually laughing about his inability to find his way around one-way street town - but seeking to purport he was joining Sheeds in pumping up Freo's tyres.
I may seem silly up on this particular high horse but I think if you give it a minute of thought, you'll clamber aboard as well.
They lied. They lied in a lazy, half-arsed way that makes our coach look like a dill. They lied to make a point no-one at our club has sought to make. They lied because they obviously care more about a quick thrill than bothering to accurately reflect what is going on.
Did I mention they lied?
Gossage, BTW, is way too giddy for a big fella. It's all wrong. He's basketball goofy.
