Palmer
For a second game,i cant help think we got the number one pick,no disrespect to other early gamers like Cyril Rioli, but seriosly, even Hase must be twtching at this how well this guy is doing.
I'm enjoying Mayne's game aswell.Unfortunatly these players will get marked more but that will free up second tier players to get moving more,Duffman did well,Murph was good but he has tough competion.

Re:Palmer
Just superb - could be a star; courage, run and skill. All this from an East Freo boy. Unbelievable. I think Mayne is going to be a really good player, great tackler already. Thought the kids made a real difference.

Re:Palmer
He was awesome especially in the first half. Rising Star award this round perhaps??? (If anyone over in Vic bothered to tune in...)

Re:Palmer
*37 stitches, 8 chipped teeth, a broken toe and major concussion; was advised not to go back on. Told the medics a win against wc was worth the risk of brain damage. Fortunately appears at this point OK.

*Some exaggeration may have occured, due to writer's post-match celebrations...

Re:Palmer
Nice effort regardless, he is going to be a champion. I was stoked when WC took Masden and we got Palmer (after watching them both in the under 18's last year), but he has even exceeded my expectations so far.

Re:Palmer
Have to say Palmer played a blinder. If he had played as well in the first half as he did in the second he would have been in with a chance for the Glendinning. Having said that I thought Pav was sensational and showed the Weagles just what you should expect from a quality Full Forward. Loved what Mayne and Duffieled contributed.. Also have to congragulate Schamnmer who has come in for a bit of flack but did really well today. And although Heath did some really terrible things I have to say that tackle against Kerr was an absolute beauty.

Re:Palmer
I reckon he would have gone pretty close to Pav for the Glendinning....

Palmer is a dead set gun.....seriously, he has only played two games!!!

And Mayne, and Warnock were excellent as well....
who said we had the oldest side, with no good players coming through???

It has to be said, the side looks better without Mark Johnson in it...cant see him getting a game any time soon.

Re:Palmer
The young gun was the 2nd highest vote getter in the medal tally from the voting panel. Awesome stuff. Harves said it was 20 staples in his head. On Monday I'm getting staples in my head, and a 10 on my jumper. He's a deadset champ.

Re:Palmer
But Guy, Shane, I thought rookies couldn't be expected to influence games. The cult of the youth and all that.

Re:Palmer
Palmer is an absolute legend. Mayne contributed too. Best game I have ever seen duffield play for freo. What a great win.

Re:Palmer
kp, the argument wasn't about how ood Palmer is... as you're now trying to say.

Palmer is very good and if you cast your mind back to the week before the season started, you'll find I posted saying we should play him until he can't play no more (bass, drums, rythym guitar and slide guitar on lead).

The argument you're digging back into was about replacing apparently non performing players with rookies en masse... a slightly different proposition entirely. That was the cult of youth freak out going on last week. If you want to take credit for the way Duffield slotted straight into the hole left by Elvis missing out, go right ahead, but so far, you're barking up the wrong tree.

Re:Palmer
Well pointed out kp. They played the kids and they got benefit, there were inspirational acts out on the ground from Palmer, Mayne and Duffield that lifted the team.

No one was freaking out last week, merely stating what was so frustratingly obvious to all except you and your mate from East Fremantle.

Re:Palmer
I believe the comment was made after someone had put Palmer up as the next captain of Fremantle after his first game. But don't let that stop you from talking up another great product of East Fremantle.

Re:Palmer
Palmer has impressed so far but let's not get ahead of ourselves. After a 13 posession 2nd quarter West Coast started to pay him a little respect and put Priddis on him (I think.) He's played two games, both at home. Let's see what he looks like when he starts to get tagged a bit more often and he has to face a hostile crowd at AAMI stadium in a couple of weeks. The mullets and moccasins alone could be enough to put him off his game.

Re:Palmer
I too am so impressed with Palmer and his skills. For sometime we have heard how Freo's skills aren't all that flash. But I tell you what when Palmer was hitting forwards chests lace out I couldn't help but think brownlow... down the track...
