Re:Glen Jackovich
What about the bit about Gilmore being 'allowed to run unaided' through the backline.

Should I give him the benefit of the doubt and suggest that he was meaning that no one from the eagles was tackling him so that no one from the dockers needed to come to his aid...or perhaps he was suggesting Gilmore should run with a stroller frame. I dunno.

Re:Glen Jackovich
His sighing after every West Coast infringement was shocking! Does he realise he was wearing a microphone and we could hear everyting he said??

Also the awkward grimace at the 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 breaks was gold! As my wife said he looks like a Madame Tussauds sculpture and the lights are melting his face!

Re:Glen Jackovich
I'll raise your 'I think it's his foot' with the pre-game banter "I know you'll be tipping West Coast, Glen".

Being oblivious to the world around him, Jako didn't flinch and replied with "I think these conditions will suit West Coast".

I'd actually like to know what conditions he didn't think would suit West Coast. Oxygen seems to be the only constant.

Shaw is a joke. How many times did he repeat"you spend nine and half hours at 30,000ft?"But Mr Stats Brucie drives me insane.Honestly who cares that it was Round 3 in 2003 that Cameron Ling last kicked two goals in a quarter or something like like that?Jacko is just Jacko.Harmless.

Re:Glen Jackovich
For me the best was when referring to west coast he said "we've got to do better than that..." Still, great to hear the commentators struggling for words or in Jako's case, just making new ones up.

Re:Glen Jackovich
I know this is harping on about last week but... I watched The Winners on Fox and the complete bias in the commentary became SO apparent it was painful. The condensed version of the game showing just the goals had Goose and Slappo going off like a possessed soccer fan at every Wet Toast goal and then a forced almost apologetic mumble at a freo goal. Particularly with our Jeff's couple. WE WANT GERARD HEALY. he was great with Clinton last season and actually took the time to study our players.

Re:Glen Jackovich
I personally liked...
"Fremantle are playing into West Coasts hands now..." at which time a WC stooge kicked it directly to Des who ran in and slotted the goal from 50m.

I think an award similar to the Hackdorn should be commissioned for the best Jackoism of the season.

I like how they talk up Mr Floppy, sorry I mean Hansen, and how he leads up the ground and presents himself.

If it was Tarrant he'd be caned because he's not paid to take marks on the wing.

Re:Glen Jackovich
He is harmless. I particularly liked when he pointed out to the goose that there was a game on when all everybody could focus on was Dean Cox. What frustrated me more was the appalling camera work! we could see the dilated pupils but not the closing tackle.

diesel, if there were a Pulitzer prize for turning life's absurdities into art you'd be a shoe in.

I live in hope that one day, in a bar somewhere, I'll hear your phone go off.

The drinks'll be on me.

Re:Glen Jackovich
His stupid call is still ringing in my ears.

I think it was Crowley who took a bump from Waters and on the way down he put his arm over Prawn`s shoulder..free kick. Jacko says something like "That was a good call, they`ve been good at paying those ones today"

Then towards the end of the game Seaby receives a ruck infringement and Slappo says "They`ve missed a couple of those today, he (Seaby) was held earlier"

Held earlier?? Insightful commentary

No mention of any instances where Freo should have received frees of course!

I miss Clinton too!!

Re:Glen Jackovich
A good commentator should give insight into what is not obvious, should shut up the rest of the time, and should leave any personal favouritism at home.

Slappo is not a good commentator.

Re:Glen Jackovich
We are constantly reminded that footy is 'entertainment'... you know, the battle for market share and all that.

Jako is just another hapless fool caught on the gravy train of ex clowns who are steered into making a living in the 'entertainment industry' and it's worth remembering that when he next graces your screen and speakers with his particular brand of stand up. It's a shame he doesn't try out at the local pub, you could throw stuff at him there and not bugger the widescreen.

He's terrible... we all knw that. He serves, therefore, as the butt of all jokes. Fitting, if you cast your mind back to his ponderous wheeling moves out on the wide open spaces with ball in hand, cheeks puffed, oil shining.... bargearsed and slow.

Re:Glen Jackovich
For me its not the fact that he is terrible at his job, its his bias. I swear I heard him say when Shannon Hurne (excuse spelling?) was breaking clear of the pack in the midfield "now kick a goal"!!!!! Isn't that barracking for your team?
