Firies V Coppers
If any one is looking for something to do this Friday night you might want to wander down to Fremantle Oval.
There is a game on between the Firies and the Coppers. It should be cracking game. The game starts at 7:15 Friday night.
I have no idea who will be playing for either side but do know that the Firies do have aquite a few good ex League players and some very good amateurs in the job.Maybe Toby McGrath will pull on the boots for the Firies.
Back in the late 60s early 70s some very good South players played for the Firies(as they were in the job).Players like Kevin Miller,Graham Riley,Fred Seinor and Keith Smith.
These games were a real feature back then. The services comp it was called.Sides from the Fire Brigade the Police Force the Army and the Navy. There used to be lots of fire works, some of the blues even made the press the Daily News and West.
So if you have nothing to do get down South and have a couple of quiet ales and watch a good game of footy.
Might help swell the Bulldogs coffers(only joking).
