I was just reading the blogs on the worst website (i know i feel dirty) and came accross a post that really got to me:
Simon Says:
April 1st, 2008 at 4:24 pm I’m a Dockers member and have been since the inception of the club but I hope they get flogged on the weekend! Why? Because the players need a massive wake up call. I’m sick to death of watching them jog around looking like they’d rather be anywhere else than playing footy. I had hoped that Harves coming to the club would change their attitude but it hasn’t seemed to work so far. My fear is that these players are going to tarnish the reputation of another coach who, if he had players who gave a s–t, could be a real success in this competition. I never thought I’d hear myself say this but, “GO THE EAGLES, FLOG THOSE LAZY BASTARDS!”
A post by a "so called member" but bagging us and hoping we lose. Just the type of supporter we seem to be developing unfortunately - the type of useless supporters that we don't need. they make me sick. They personify the supporters of the eagles themselves rather than Fremantle.
I'f they don't want to support us, then support someone else. If they're going to be a member of our great club then act like one. Don't be bandwagoners and criticise us during hard times then jump on board when we win.
I've been a member since day 1 as he has, so i've been through all the hardship as we all have, but as a true fremantle supporter i've always remained faithfull and am as passionate as they come. I always cheer and i never bag our club as they have. Sure being critical of players etc can be part of being a supporter, but actually publicly stating that we should lose?!?!?
The guys are actually trying out there. If you don't think that any player in the AFL is giving 100% then you must be on some of the old benny cuzz medicine.
It's the players job to play and it's our job to support, so do that, and if you don't want to please suport someone else. we need everyone on board and everyone being positive, rather than this negative crap.
We always used to be the supporters who would cheer non-stop, no matetr what - we all had the passion. i've noticed these days thogh that things have changed, our crowds are slowly starting to sound like eagles crowds, only cheering when something good happens. we were drowned out last weekend by the hawthorn supporters.
Come everyone, lets remember where we come from and what we stand for and get right behind the boys!!! No matter what!!

i can only hope that's an April Fools. but 1) it was after midday, and 2) it's sad that there are a lot of supporters starting to act like him. some of the comments in the crowd last weekend from our own supporters were terrible

There's a difference between being a Dockers member and a Dockers supporter. That's the same for any club I guess. Just because he has been a member since the club's inception doesn't mean he actually supports the club.
I don't think it's possible for a true supporter to ever want their team to lose (unless you support Tankton) - especially against cross town rivals.
He probably tried to jump on the Eagles bandwagon after 94 (in my opinion the Eagles bandwagon started in 86, it just gathered momentum in 94) but missed out so he joined the Dockers.

As much as it hurts to admit this there is a few eagles supporters with at least half a brain.I think you have come across one here. He pretends to be a Dockers supporter and posts that type of s*%$ to try and make us look bad.It is quite obvious that he doesn't have passion and is not really a Freo fan.

http://blogs.thewest.../sport/sports-blog-who-will-win-on-saturday/Your old mate has been at his old tricks again Simon Says: April 2nd, 2008 at 1:56 pm I can not beleive that C Tarrant will be playing in the team this weekend (sorry Donna)! When he first came to the club I was hoping that he’d put his off field dramas behind him and make a fresh start. I can’t comment on his off field behaviour but on the field he has been an absolute lemon and should spend, at the very least, 2 weeks in the WAFL. I can not for the life of me understand why Harvey has not dropped him. In my earlier blog I was hoping that the lazy Dockers (bear in mind I’m a Dockers member and grew up barracking for South Freo) would not tarnish Harvey’s reputation (or eventual reputation) as a quality coach but this decision to play Tarrant is just wrong, what are you thinking Harvey? I think it’s time to stop talking about “premiership windows” at the club and instigate an external audit of the club to work out where this lazy attitude amongst the players has come from. If anyone from within the Dockers organisation is reading this, please, please, please do something drastic. Every second week I sit in block 103 and scream myself hoarse supporting a bunch of blokes who look like they couldn’t give a toss as long as they receive their base salary every week. In short I have this to say to the Dockers, “WE, YOUR MEMBERS, HAVE THE PASSION….DO YOU?”

Simple Simon don't like our Pieman seems to scream "it's just not fair"
Simple Simon whinge and whining needs to know that we just don't care
Simple Simon and his ilk have infiltrated now for years
Simple Simon could do with a little getting out in the clean fresh air
and
EAT SOME NUTS!

I think the Dockers administration should thank Simple Simon for his suggestion and do something drastic.
They should start with an external audit of Block 103 and weed out a member with a lazy attitude and a poor grasp of the concept of passion.

Simon didn't even have the balls to express his views amongst us real dockers supporters. I hope he stays over with the slime because he will fit right in with the crap talking, bloated headed types that are eagles supporters. What a waste of space if he turns up to dockers games.

How many other clubs have to suffer opposition supporters as members! We should revise the membership renewal form to state that if you are found to be barracking for the egirls or are an egirl member your membership will be canceled.

No other club has to suffer it because no other supporters would join another club.
Have you ever noticed how the people who buy a Dockers membership - because they 'want to see live football' never seem to enjoy live football.

There-in lies the irony fd1028.
If I lived in Melbourne I wouldn't buy a Pies membership just so I could watch live footy. I'd pick the best game of the round in Melb and go there.

Um, this guy should go and join Richmond - they eat their own like no-one else. You haven't lived until you've been to the "G" or "Dome" when the Tigers lose. It helps if you're wearing a Freo jumper to really fire them up.

I agree with you. Like I said before we have a couple "Freagle" supporters that sit in front of us at the games. They wear both their Fremantle and West Coast Gear. When the guys are not playing very well they sit there giggling like a couple of school girls. I hope the Dockers show them they are not a joke this weekend and make the Eagles soar like Emus this weekend. Man I would love to be at the game but I couldn't get tickets or a babysitter. I will be glued to the TV dressed in my Fremantle gear.
GO DOCKERS!!!!

I suppose that reason Simon can't for the life of him understand why Tarant is still playing, is that Harvey is the coach of the team, and may know a few things about team structure and game plans, and that Simon is a lip flapping maggot with nothing but the soothing sounds of the sea between his ears.
I like the way the WAFL is seen as the medication for all players ability to perform to potential, as if playing lower grade footy and gaining confidence are the only things that need to be addressed.
Tarrant is playing in a team, and while his kicking for goal needs work, the delivery he's getting and the positions he's having to run to are team problems, his work rate could hardly be decribed as lazy.
This is a gem though, "I think it’s time to instigate an external audit of the club to work out where this lazy attitude amongst the players has come from."
I reckon Simon would benefit from getting his own internal audit done, so the the medical world can work out how he's got his arse to talk.

Simple Simon is a sheep. Worse than that he's a creep. Not a true supporter, Loyalty as weak as water. So when we lose, it's not great.
Well take your support and shove it up your d.....

The thing is FreoBear, if you live in Melbourne you don't need to be a member to get to the footy and there is a few games every week. Here in Perth there are more members than seats for the Slime and it is heading that way for the Dockers. Basically, you need to get a seat to ensure you can watch footy every second week.
So, if you live in Melbourne you don't need to buy a Collingwood membership to watch the footy, but here in Perth if you don't you've got bugger all chance of watching the footy on a regular basis.
The great thing about going to the footy in Melbourne is that you have a healthy representation of each team's supporters. The fact there is support for both sides playing and the banter between supporters makes going to the footy all the more enjoyable.
As a Richmond supporter (and I haven't eaten any of our players....yet) I have attended games v West Coast and the atmosphere is crap, because the entire place is filled with eagles supporters, who generally speaking know very little about footy and their lack of knowledge is compounded by the fact that they only get one point of view for the entire game.
My brother-in-law is an avid, dyed in the wool Dockers supporter, my other brother-in-law is an avid dyed in the wool Carlton supporter. We have all been members of the Dockers since they won the spoon in '01.
I love live footy. I reckon the crowds at Dockers games are fantastic, even when the Tiges come over and everyone has a go at me. That's what the footy is all about. In my opinion, packing out the stadium with one team's supporters takes most of the atmosphere out of the game.
It leads to farcical situations like people participating in waves during the third quarter......

I have not jumped on any bandwagon and have never supported or barracked for the eagles. Until Freo came into the competition I didn't really follow the VFL only South Freo in the WAFL.
Just listen to you all, you unthinking bunch of morons, no wonder this is the unofficial Dockers website. You pussy's can't take a bit of stick, GROW UP.

I'm quite happy to be in the big grey area of fans that hovers between the two extremes of:
i) feels the need to massively bag my own team out in public newspaper forums; and
ii) thinks that questioning the team and players commitment and skills and passion is a crime against humanity.
