Memorable Moments
If Saturday was anything to go on, this season is going to be awesome. I lobbed at my parking spot in West Leederville just after the fowls had been taken to the cleaners, and walked through the slime supporters with all the paraphenalia they had on. As they trudged towards me, I couldn't help myself, I had to be wearing my best knowall smile, haha, mob of losers. Every group I walked past was having the same thread of conversation, i.e. the weather, umpires, not our best team on the park, etc. Of course there would have been more, but most would have left at three quarter time.

That made my day, but of course when the main game started things got better and better. Unfortunately I had to leave at half time to pick Ooslumchick up from work, but just that first half was priceless. When you look at the ones who weren't out there I can't see how we aren't going to have a real good year. For so early in the piece the standard they put on was high, and although there was some reaction by a few of our guys to the unnecessary play the man tactics of Primus and Pickett, it was understandable, and they were quite right to stand up for themselves, as was the coach. That is part of our evolution as a football team and club, that we can't be bullied and trodden on like we are inferior, we demand respect by demonstrating in our actions that we aren't the easybeats any more. But having said that, I thought the guys showed a lot of discipline in how they reacted.

Couple of memories that could go on the highlights thread.

Medhurst absolutely making a jackass of Burgoyne time and time again, a la Prior.

Sensational Sandilands. One time when a couple of Port players were tossing up who was going to mark the kick in, and a pair of big arms came over the top.

Another time, a bouncedown on the scoreboard wing, when the bounce went straight to the Port guy, you could see the Port rover waiting for the tap and looking for someone to kick to when it came out, and another big fist reached over and put the ball straight on Belly's chest.

Magic.

Ooslumchick must be a pretty good sort for you to leave at half time.

Oos you better get your priorities sorted before the season proper, leaving the footy at half time is something not tolerated around here.
Advise Oslumchick to learn how to drive, bus, train or use "shankses pony", else your integrity will be seriously question (closet slime?).

What did you miss in the second half, well Mr Brogan tried to adjust Haddrills vertebrate and I thought that One Punch Dodd Part 2 was about to occur, luckily for the Bogan the three quarter time siren and the smell of the oranges took the players minds off fighting.

Well put Jimb.
Ooslumbird, unless you had to get out to see the last at Ascot then there's no decent excuse. Just out of curiosity, does that thumb you're under keep the rain off you during winter?

Bloody hell!

OOslumchick is actually my daughter. And I can deadset promise it won't happen again.

Under the thumb? Yep, I am ashamed to say that Ooslumdragon does frighten me. But then again I do take her with me everywhere I go.

It's easier than kissing her goodbye.
