Glendinning Medal
Good on you Pav! Five goals, the marks you took under incredible pressure, and the MANY free kicks that you DID NOT get but should have! You are inspirational and we are so proud of you winning this medal. It coud not have gone to a more worthy recipient.

Great work,Pav!
...but it was disappointing for that the medal presentation wasn't shown on tv.
Has it become too controversial, what with all the booing and bad language?

Re:Glendinning Medal
no, because I think the slime had to concede that he was the best player. Even the slime supporter next to us actually clapped when he won the medal.

Re:Glendinning Medal
Thank you Foxsports for cutting to an extended advertisement break while the presentation was happening. Then coming back to a replay of the medal getting placed around Pav's neck and a small amount of trophy celebrations. Then 20 minutes of Shaw, Slappovich and Goossage before a shortened replay of the song.

Re:Glendinning Medal
Pav deserved it if only for making Hunter have to go down the race with a sore back after he took a spekky over him.

Re:Glendinning Medal
Palmer should have got it...for what, Owano? Barely touching the ball in the second half? Don't get me wrong: Palmer should get a bravery award for playing out the game, and his first half (like his game last wk) was all class. But the difference between the two (pretty ordinary) sides today was obviously, by a bleeding country mile, Matthew Pavlich. Palmer's time for winning medals will unquestionably come, but let's stop kidding ourselves that, because he's proven to be a great draft pick, he's going to single-handedly win us a flag this year. Next wk they'll start hitting him harder and tagging him, and when he learns to overcome that he'll be a really valuable player. Meanwhile, today was Matty Pavlich's day--a great captain's game--and he truly deserved the medal, just as he deserved the Clinton Wolf votes.

Re:Glendinning Medal
Well put, Wizfan...

for the record, the presentation was barely audible at the game so everybody ****** out on speeches and hoo hah.
There was some half hearted booing coming from somewhere near the 3 tier stand.

Hase was limping around with the Derby trophy after the game for a while.

Pav's fend off of Glass and run down the pocket for a goal on the run in the 2nd set the tone and stamped his captain's mark on the game, but a few of his pack marks were pretty good.

The Freo team song was played rather quietly after the siren. I can only assume this is done to avoid pumping the crowd too much before the medal presentation.
