Does anyone have any news on how the rest of the Dockers played in the WAFL this weekend? For some reason we don't get any WAFL news over here in SA, can't think why not...

Duffield (close to BOG) and Head were very good for SF. Murphy fair with 3 goals. Mourish ordinary.

Warnock was the best for West Perth. He should get a game next week.

I would say that Duffield showed enough to warrant consideration.
Caleb Mourish, unfortunately seems light years away. Doesn't move well and looks unfit for WAFL, let alone AFL.
Murphy kicked 3 goals in a team that kicked about 20. I like the fact that he can actually kick a football accurately. He may well get a game for that reason by itself. But I would have felt better if he had of kicked a few more goals and made a few more leads. He did not seem overly quick unfortunately.

from reports in the sunday slime it had:
Duff best for souths, and Head about 6th best
Webster about 5th best for EP
Warnock best for the Falcons
Browne about 6th best for the tigers in his comeback game.
Mourish may have played crap yesterday but has been very inpressive the last part of the pre-season and also last week.
pity drum didnt get in the best for perth.

Good news about Warnock playing well...
look, I'm up in the desert and news is scarce, could some please tell me how much South Freo beat the Sharks by?

Duffield best playing forward isn't much help though. Scott Thornton looked ready to go.

I watched a bit of the derby on ABC. Defintely agree with comments re: Duffield - he looked hungry and moved well, I would be happy to see him in this week in the midfield or up forward. The Rash defintely looked ready.
I didn't watch the whole game, but thought Murphy looked average. He had a couple of long kicks at goal later in the game which missed narrowly though.

One thing was quite obvious watching the derby.
East Fremantle make them. South Fremantle give them a place to retire.

This obsession with youth has become unhealthy.
gee, that's quite a margin, there. 79 points. If you were a Crows fan you'd be temptedto call it a reaming.
I'm no fan of the Crows, fortunately.

I agree about Thornton. I missed his name in earlier comment. He is definitely in the mix for a game.

For Guy, interstate and overseas supporters, this is the West's take on our WAFL players at hhe weekend. Fremantle teenager Brock O‘Brien showed an encouraging return to form in Peel’s upset win over Perth. O’Brien played one AFL game last season but battled hamstring injuries. The tenacious 19-year-old played in WA’s 2006 under-18 side and was a fourth-round selection at No. 42 in the national draft later that year. Fellow Dockers Paul Duffield and Luke Webster put their hand up for an AFL recall with solid hit-outs.
Duffield was best afield for the Bulldogs, gathering 31 possessions and kicking four goals.
FREMANTLE Andrew Browne (C): Solid return to league ranks. Had 19 disposals. Calib Mourish (EF): Lowered his colours to Robert Haddrill. Luke Webster (EP): Dominant, incisive, dynamic all day. Brock O’Brien (Peel): Helped turn match in third term. Marcus Drum (P): Impressive rebounding at half-back. Paul Duffield (SF): Best on ground with 31 possessions. Josh Head (SF): Strong effort from half-back with 24 disposals. Ryan Murphy (SF): Keen tussle with West Coast’s Matt Spangher. Scott Thornton (SF): Showed his trademark dash out of defence. Robert Warnock (WP): Fantastic first term and reliable all day.

Thank you gentlemen.
Freo supporters are just so... so... civilised. Mind, when your nearest neighbours look like a guest list from Jerry Springer, it's no great claim. But cheers, lads.

Murphy is not a good match for Freo. He is too much like Tarrant. ie: if he is not getting the ball lace out he has no idea of how to go about getting into the game. Getting the ball lace out in the Freo forward line can be a difficult thing due to poor skill execution in the mid field
and not everyone is as good as Luke McPharlin in knowing when and where to lead.

Just wondering about Calib Mourish, I know people have said he wasn't too good this weekend and he seems a long way off. But he kicked 2 goals against Robbie Haddrill, and he kicked 4 goals last week.
He's obviously improved in the last year, seeing he was playing in the WAFL reserves last year. So, what has his development been like so far?
