Warnocked Him Out | Print |

Robbie Warnock has become the latest in a long line of Fremantle players to be stitched up by the tribunal because of a soft opposition player, almost completing the Bingo Card for them. Warnock couldn't slow his big frame as he desperately, some would say courageously, tried to spoil Luke Ball from taking a mark and made slight contact as he flew past Ball and risked serious injury to himself of the substandard Telstra Dome surface.

Ball, seeing his chance to play for a fifty metre penalty, flung himself to the ground and, in Chaplinesque fashion, knocked himself out on his own knee. The St Kidla players were then allowed to have their way with Warnock as the umpires just stood back and watched the young ruckmen be mauled by the thuggish and undisciplined St Kilda players.

Warnock managed to talk the Match Review Panel down to a mere reprimand but will now have a black mark against what was once one of the cleanest records in the AFL.
