Steven Dodd is free to play this week after Fremantle worked the system to have his "tripping" charge downgraded to the point where his one week suspension was watered down to a stern ticking off. Progressing since the days when the club based it's tribunal appearances around the "it's not netball" defence, Fremantle accepted the fact that they'd never convince Stewie Loewe that the incident was completely innocuous, and decided to argue that it was actually just reckless and not a deliberate trip - not hard to believe considering Riewoldt dived through the air so far he should have been wearing a cape. They tribunal bought it, the charge was downgraded and Dodd was given the thumbs up to play against the Crows this weekend.
