Dean Solomon has been suspended for two weeks for rough conduct against Shane Wakelin. Fremantle took Solomon to the tribunal after the Match Review Panel clearly made a mistake but the tribunal members were even dumber, accepting the case that a light brush against a player's shoulder is rough conduct.
The Dockers advocate argued that Somolon had little choice but to hit Wakelin high, after the Collingwood defender spontanously fell to his knees after flinching at the sight of the opposition. IN their prosecution, the AFL made the point that ruffling the nancy boy's hair is too rough contact for Mr Wakelin and that this contact was dangerously close to bringing Wakelin to tears - a sight which, after the spate of St Kilda blubberers, no one at AFL House would like to see again.
