Sheriff 'Honourable Loss' | Print |

The Sheriff went around Saturday night just gone and straight up put in just short of a Barry Crocker. He copped a number of hits in running and was never able to get anything going. He struggled from the get go and being belted from pillar to post he understandably knocked up finishing a fading last.

But the iron Sheriff is not done yet. He is finally getting his chance to have a crack at the further 642 metre distance. His usual pattern of racing suggests the 642 will be to his liking but age and previous injury may hinder his ability to now run it out strongly. As with everything there is only one way to categorically find out.

He comes up in race 8 on the card in what is a very slick field. The Sheriff could have done with one of his many recent box one draws in this race as the box 6 he has drawn is lethal.
