Recurring Nightmare
jude47 May 24 2008 14:38:24 This thread discusses the Content article: Recurring Nightmare
I'm still proud of our boys, you never gave in again and costly bad umpiring decisions once again in the last quarter influenced the result. How about all of our supporters putting in a dollar and Harvs please say something. It would be worth the fine, remember how Hird criticised the umpiring a few years back and Essendon got great treatment from umpires for the rest of the season. |

Re:Recurring Nightmare
freo4ever May 24 2008 15:23:56 I am so over the biased umpiring. I wasnt able to watch the game live today as I was working a good thing too I didnt have to watch it with my one eyed carlton daughter. I got my hubby to tape it I knew we had lost, I also knew the umpiring was bad because I had loads of text messages from friends who were quite pissed off with the umpiring again.
I have just finished watching the game and the beauty of this is you can pause and re wind, oh my god were we crucified again! My hubby who I am sure gets sick of my 'bloody umpires routine' was dragged into the room when ever a poor decision was made so basically spent a lot of time watching the game. ATTENTION MEDIA PEOPLE WHO I KNOW FREQUENT DOCKERLAND HAVE A GOOD LOOK AT THE GAME THE CRAP WE HAVE TO PUT UP WITH WEEK AFTER WEEK - REPORT IT AS YOU SEE IT BAD UMPIRING COSTS US GAMES NOT US CHOKING! crucial decisions that costs us games - crucial decisions that give us a week of pain in the media - surely there is something we can do as a group. I was thinking a mass rally or maybe we can black ban our game and the team not show up, there isnt really much point in showing up because the little maggots can turn a game on its head with their wrong decisions. What can we do as a team. Once upon a time we had 1 umpire for the whole game and yes you could accept if he missed a couple of decisions but now days there are how many and they are still blind. Now I have got that off my chest I am going to bed and perhaps tomorrow when I wake up it will be saturday and we are playing carlton and this was not a dream? |

Re:Recurring Nightmare
darthmarto May 25 2008 00:43:28 I reckon its got a lot to do with the 150th of the VFL/AFL ... things had better return to normal (ie only one biased umpire) next year !!

Re:Recurring Nightmare
guy smiley May 25 2008 01:47:44 I am getting a tad weary of the disappointment... as for the nightmare...
"The dream police, they live inside of my head. The dream police, they come to me in my bed. The dream police, theyre coming to arrest me, oh no. You know that talk is cheap, and those rumors aint nice. And when I fall asleep I dont think Ill survive the night, the night. cause theyre waiting for me. Theyre looking for me. Evry single night theyre driving me insane. Those men inside my brain." Name the band? |

Masticator May 25 2008 02:06:30 Well, it wasn't Bill Haley and the comets. That narrows it down considerably.

Re:Recurring Nightmare
FAZE May 25 2008 07:14:00 The final straw which brought much abuse directed at the TV was Farmer being tackled having handballed ahead of himself. It may not have changed the course of the game but it summed up the standard of umpiring on the day.
|

It happened again, the Dockers dominating, the umpires screwing us, going into the final quarter with a lead, then lost the lead, right down to the part where Pav tries to win the game and hits the post instead. Fremantle fought hard all day to take a narrow lead into the third quarter but. like a small child in a crowded shopping centre, they just couldn't hold on. A quiet start by the Dockers held out hope that they might be making their charge later this week, putting themselves in front by dominating in the third quarter but they started to slow down early in the last after an early goal. The Blues got a couple of lucky ones to push back in front and Fremantle were helpless to stop them.
