Blood, guts and gore (if you count Quinten Lynch's face) - Rhys Palmer's debut derby had it all. It also saw him rack up 24 touches and a nomination for the Rising Star Award. After a cowardly attack was made on Palmer by Brent Staker in the opening minutes of Saturday's match, Palmer was rushed to the medical tent and given what is now being descrbed as 47 stitches, a metal plate, a blood transfusionand an artificial limb. Once he'd mopped up his own blood from around the changerooms he returned to the field a man possessed, picking up possessions at will and delivering the ball with the sort of precision usually only seen in Swiss clock shops.
