He may be on crutches and require a special helper monkey to carry out his daily activities but Paul Hasleby has refused to take a backward hobble in the lead up to the Derby on Saturday. Hasleby declared that West Coast coach, Peter Sumich is talking nonsense after the Eagles favourite son stumbled his way through an embarrassing pre-game interview where he accused the Dockers of showing a lack of respect to the Eagles by continually beating them.

While he's not the first to identify the words coming out of Peter Sumich's mouth as nonsense, the fiery response is sure to draw the ire of the Eagles who, after using up all their favours in the pre-season rendering over their cultural problems, have been unable to organise a beat up about which senior player hates which senior coach, somewhat of a Derby tradition in previous years.
