New Dockers Get a Home | Print |

There used to be a situation at Fremantle whereby new recruits would arrive at the club for their first day of training and be faced with the site of a crazy eyed albino running around with his shirt off. But those days a are behind the club now and all they are faced with is the 6 metre high photo of Clive with is shirt of that adorns the lobby.

Another influencing factor on the new recruits will be what WAFL club they go to. The draft action has taken place so let's look where they're off to.

There are obviously a few people around Fremantle who haven't forgiven Damian Drum for sending the club into obscurity so they've done the same to his nephew. Poor old Marcus Drum has drawn the short straw and will be sent to Perth, or the Home Demons as they like to be called. No one is quite sure where Perth have decided to call themselves or play this year so Marcus has been instructed to drive around the metropolitan area looking for an oval covered in tumble weeds.

Robbie Warnock has been given a clove of garlic and a gold bus pass and will find himself up in Joondalup running around in the less than slimming colours of West Perth. Hopefully he can find his way back to Fremantle.

Garrick Ibbotson has been lucky enough to remain with his club, East Fremantle where he is expected to flourish under the tutelage of Brownlow Medallists Shane Woewodin.

Thankfully none of the new recruits have landed at South Fremantle this year so we won't have to put up with the outrage about how a teenager isn't been given a chance to hold down a key position. It's also a bonus for the Bulldogs who will save money on caps.
