Grover Out for Round 1 | Print |
Written by Shane Richmond

In another win for Fremantle, Antoni Grover has been drawn out of the hat this year to be the 2006 Pre-Season Sacraficial Lamb. In the traditional attempt by the AFL to appear to be tough on.....well, football, Grover has been suspended for a week for striking Cameron Mooney.

The AFL like a low profile player to rub up against the opposition in the pre-seaosn so they can 'send a message' out to all the other low profile players that these sorts of things will not be tollerated. The message is expected to be effective until about Round 3 when a big name player does the exact same thing and we are all asked to look the other way.

For his trouble, Grover will miss the opening round of the season, he will also be given a commemorative plaque and a counseling session from Troy Cook and Byron Pickett.
