After 12 weeks on the sidelines, Jeff Farmer has returned and inspired his team to their biggest win of the season. Bar for a few unusually umpired few minutes in the first quarter, Fremantle dominated all around the ground, kicking goals at will and generally looking the goods. All Carlton could do was enjoy the show as The Wiz put on 4 goals, Dessy Headland 5 and 11 of their team mates putting through the rest for a 77 point win.

The mid season break had come and gone and a week away from football can seem like a long time in the middle of winter. The withdrawal symptoms were evident as people arrived at Subiaco Oval. There was twitching, sweating and paranoia - and that was just the bloke dressed like Oliver standing outside the Eagles change rooms. But for one man the wait had been much, much longer. For 12 weeks, Jeff Farmer had been forced to sit on the sidelines watching his team mates centre the ball from the pocket, go back behind their mark to take kicks, refuse to try and draw a fifty metre penalty from the goal square and celebrate the achievements with all the flair of Tony Barber’s trousers. 12 gruelling weeks of missing the excitement of the contest, the accolades of the crowd and the free lollies after the game. It must have been rough. ....more
The Purple Jesus is back.

I'm sure the booing just spurs him on - just as Carny claims that the booing makes Benny play better...

Jeff is actually a very fair player. A hard player, but a fair one nonetheless. He always gives a pat on the back (or bum) to his opponents, he shakes hands, and notice how he always picks up the ball after it's gone out of bounds and hands it back to the umpire. Most players walk away, but Jeff makes the effort to help.

We love ya, Jeffrey.

he even had time to speak to benny and wirrapunda after the game too...IMO he is all class! and his so-called indiscretions although unacceptable in todays freo football club, would be standard weekend activities at st kilda 2 years ago, or any vfl team in the 80's...

He was worth 5 goals to us today (3 + 2assists), could have kicked 6 himself, if he had naile dthe difficult ones, and that screamer he took I'd go to any game to see...

The wiz was fantastic today. He was right in front of me when he tried the short pass from the boundary instead of having a shot.

Unfortunately he miscued the kick and the crowd all cheered.

I was surprised he didn't have a shot because the distance was only 30 metres and the area in front was very congested.

I was quite*****ed off being surrounding by people continually abusing him. He took the specky and they all shut up.

He is fantastic.
