So evidently this Fred Basset greyhound is in town! There?s this busted hump of a dog in WA who has been winning the odd race around the country. This celebrity dog, this blow in from the east with a couple of radio stooges, Hamish and Andy, tagging along. They?re planning a hit and run mission in Perth this Saturday night at Cannington and are inviting everyone to get out there, join the party and cheer it home. This Saturday night at Cannington will be enormous. Fabulous Fred Basset has been aniliating them and drawing incredible crowds! Radio Station B105?s Hamish and Andy are racing the greyhound around the country and are just knocking up the wins. Given the hound is trained by the very spunky Angela Langton, team Fred is assured victory in the stunning stakes even if they lose the actual dog race. After a first up Barry Crocker of a run in Victoria they ventured to Brisbane where he bolted in. From there it was south to Adelaide where he showed the Crow eaters a clean pair of paws cruising in to take the checkered flag making them look second rate. So now Fred comes to Perth and thinks he?s going to go on his merry way and chalk up another seven scalps! He?s actually a silly chance to do so because he?s managed to side step a meeting with the dockerland Racing Syndicate?s superstar Sheriff Austin! The Sheriff would have shown this part timer what greyhound racing in the West is all about. We tried to organize a match race with Fred but unfortunately all to no avail. We spoke to our people who spoke to our people?s people who spoke to other people who had nothing to do with their people and unfortunately but understandably their people failed to receive the request. So given the contest that was never going to happen isn?t going to happen we can safely assume Team Fred were never any hope of knocking over the Sheriff. So come out to Cannington Saturday night and firstly join in and get behind your fellow dockerlanders and get Sheriff Austin home in race 3. Hang around a bit and then fire up again and get on the Fred Basset Bandwagon in race 5. The dockerland Racing Syndicate?s loyalties maybe divided because Dazzler Dan Biddle, dockerland?s Syndicate member and on course man, has his runner Kalden Fury in the same race. And let me tell you Fred would want to be in front of the Fury by a long way or Hamish, Andy and the Basset will suffer serious wind burn.
