Dockers Load up For South Australia | Print |
Written by Shane Richmond

As part of the new initiative by the AFL - Let's Stick it Up Fremantle month - the Dockers are being sent to South Australia this week to play against the aging Adelaide Crows. it will be the Dockers fourth trip to South Australia in the last 12 months and there was talk of revolting players - in particular the time Pav walked into the wrong change rooms and saw Grahm Johncock in the buff.

Despite the horrible destination, it's not lost on the Dockers that, despite it only being a scratch match, the hype surrounding the game is huge. After all, it's the 2006 Second Qualifying Final Re-Match. South Australia is a buzz after last years ring-a-ding battle that saw Adelaide sneak home in the last quarter.

As a result, Fremantle have decide to throw a bit more talent at Adelaide than they did in their win over the Hawks last week. First of all, they've brought back their captain - and the next half a dozen or so blokes in line to the captaincy. Josh Carr, Luke McPharlin and Paul Hasleby all return for one last hit out before the season starts. Two ruckman have been brought into the side - Justin Longmuir and Aaron Sandilands - bringing the total number of ruckman up to 2. Dean Solomon will be back after laying low for a few days. While Roger Hayden and Antoni Grover will return to their role of goosifying the opposition forwards.

Troy Cook will miss out after pulling up sore at training during the week, Jeff Farmer and Michael Johnson will get a head start on their suspension and Calib Mourish has been rushed back to undisclosed safe house that the club are hiding him in to avoid the opposition getting a good look at him.

The Crows have brought Scott Thompson and Ian Perrie into their squad and shuffled the deck chairs with a few others from the side that pulled up stumps at three quarter time to let the Eagles win last week.
