Docker Ben Back on Board | Print |

In one of the greatest shellackings in Fremantle since they finished off the Endeavour Replica, Ben Allan has won the much coveted spot on the Fremantle Football Club Board. The former Fremantle captain, coach... well, former Fremantle everything, won by 4886 votes which might not sound that much until you find out that his nearest rival only polled 411 votes.

As predicted by the dockerland polling, Allison Brown and Gary Hasler rounded out the placings and are tipped to give Les Everett a run for his money in 2006.

The news was announced at the second Annual Members Meeting which, although expected to be a fiery affair where disgruntled supporters queued up around the block to throw rotten fruit at the club's administrators, was in fact a quiet gathering of a hundred odd people with some minor whinges. Topics of discussion included the Billy Walker Room, the appointment of Mark Harvey and what sort of polish Cameron Schwab uses on his Julius Marlows.

Docker Ben will take his place on the board as of December 1st 2005 by which time, eBay is expected to be flooded with bobbing headed Ben Allan dolls by shrewd Fremantle investors.
