From humble beginnings as an internet peddler of herbal remedies and Nigerian financial investments schemes, Garrick Ibbotson has battled his way up the ranks of Aussie Rules football to this week be nominated for the Bank of the Week Rising Star Award.
Topping the ball getting count on the weekend, Ibbotson's nomination has been a few weeks in the making, catching the eye of many a football fan and seeing 'experts' queuing up to feel like talent scouts as he effortlessly roams around the wings.
Former collegues, Hugibert Dryden, Marcelino Dumas and the always lovely, Ephram Hyram congratulated Ibbotson on the honour but, on a sad note, had to inform him of the sad passing of the Prince of Nigeria, requesting a small amount of money so they could have his assets transferred to Australia. At which point they would give Ibbotson his money back and a 10% commission.
