dockerland Racing Syndicate?s Sheriff Austin will line up in his first feature race this Saturday night. He?s threatened to contest several previously but always found injury and broke down in the weeks leading up to them. On Saturday night the heats of the Cannington All Stars gets underway. Sheriff Austin lines up in the first heat jumping out of the horrendous 6 box. He got under our guard two weeks ago when he returned to racing in sensational style flying the lids and leading all the way to win at $16. It was a huge effort given he barely had a preparation. The heats of the All Stars consist of some super dogs from Western Australia and a handful of smart ones from the East. There are five heats so the Sheriff needs to either win or finish as one of the three fastest seconds to make the $40,000 final on Saturday the 28th October. We?ve been robbed with the Sheriff?s career. Injury has kept us from seeing how good he actually is and what he could have done over his racing life. In winning two weeks back Sheriff Austin took his record in WA to 6 wins and 4 placings from just 13 starts and over $13k in stake for the dockerland Syndicate. Saturday Night is very tough ask but the Sheriff is capable and going on his run two weeks back, a repeat performance would see him right amongst it. Unfortunately we have got the dog we knocked over in the recent shootout, Lindale Roxy, on our right. The problem is it heads for the fence once it jumps out of the boxes so it may cannon into the Sheriff. Fingers crossed it somehow misses us and happens to take out a few opponents for us. So any dockerlander, syndicate member or otherwise, who may wish to get down to Cannington central on Saturday night then you?re more than welcome. There will be a few dockerland guys out there so come down, meet up and get involved in supporting the Sheriff. The weather is looking beautiful so it should be a nice warm night out there.
