I must admit I was totally against this initially however I decided to just watch some Richmond games to see what he may have to offer. A big positive is that he plays quite angry which I think he may have been showing off to us on Sunday. Our guys didn't seem to fazed by anything that he did. The other main thing I noticed was that his ball usage is quite good especially when initiating attacking moves through centre of the ground and disposing of the ball into forward 50. This is an area where we still struggle as we frequently bomb the ball in rather than lower the eyes and pick out a leading target.
It's this aspect of Baker's game that interests me and if we could get him for a late 1st round pick and a later 3rd round pick maybe that would be a worthwhile trade, absolutely nothing more, and a medium level salary, nothing rivalling what our young guns Serong, Young, Brayshaw, Darcy, Jackson and co are getting paid.
If Richmond or Baker wanted any more I'd walk away, it's got to be on our terms and he would have work for his spot not given a commitment that he would be playing in our first 22 each week
