According to the very reliable weather boys, there is a 5 to 20% chance of rain between 1pm and 7pm,after that it is supposed to get really wet.
So we need to have our best 1st Qtr for the year to get quite a few goals in front.?

We need to be less handball happy if it is wet. For team selection we should look at bringing in Brodie to provide a bit more grunt with Simpson to be given the sub duties with Fyfe to play a full game. Would like to see Switkowski to play but not sure who we would drop to make way other than maybe Emmett or O'Meara. But both of these two will be valuable in the wet so can't see Switta forcing his way back in this week.

Hey KK, surely Simpson goes out for Switta if he's available. Cooper has shown some glimpses, but not really productive enough yet to keep one of our best pressure players out of the team?

I'm not normally this negative but it's happened too many times over the past few years not to point out.

Watch for the club to over possess the ball in the wet, turn it over a bunch and be behind before realising they need to just take territory and structure up as such some time around the third quarter. EVERY SINGLE TIME we play in the wet these past few years, we do this. We try to chip the ball around sideways and handball sideways and backwards, fumble or lose the ball and the opposition grabs it and throws it on the boot forward. We lose and then talk about not adjusting to the conditions quick enough.

We KNOW what the conditions are going to be and the players and staff should KNOW how to play in those conditions. Wet weather footy is the most basic to teach and learn or adjust to. You see the ball, grab the ball and boot it forward. Your players ahead of the ball should be positioned ready for the quick scrambled kick forward and not allow an opposition player to stand 30-40m away from the contest unopposed to rebound it immediately. The ball to a pack often slides over the back of it so prepare to crumb off hands towards the back instead of front and centre. Kicks to leads are often ineffective and a turn over so you must dispose of the ball immediately before numbers can get back to slow it down. It's simple.

These are basic things that the club should be training this week. There are no excuses.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

Maybe you can drop down to training and have a word to the players Biz.

I guess the problem is that when you've invested so much in honing skills it is hard to adjust to just getting the ball moving forward at all costs.

Treacy to CHB and just attack the footy and hoof it forward. No-one, opponent, or teammate will get between him and the footy.

I can see the excuses now when we beat the Swans... they'll be saying that the Swans had to travel... Well, Hello... Who just flew back from Melbourne to play at Optus this week?
Surely that's classified as "travel"???

If it's wet, give Darcy a week off to rest his calf and bring Switkowski back.

KK I think Emmett has been great for us so far this this year, strong body , high pressure , fierce attack on the footy. There was a passage of play against Richmond where he parred a contest against 2 then got up and did a great tackle. Regardless of the weather I don't think he is anywhere near being dropped.
