The footy gods are helping Freo again

So, Carlton are definitely not going to threaten us ladderwise.
Port are trying really hard to keep Hawthorn below us.
Geelong should ensure that Sydney stay 2 or 3 games below us.
I'll be barracking hard for the Kangaroos to thrash the Bulldogs.
Then, if the Dockers just play reasonably well, it will be a very enjoyable weekend.

Gods be damned, you can only win games and let the cards fall wherever. Win enough and who cares what the dweebs down the ladder are doing?
Specially those at 16...

Very hard for Hawks to make the four now. If Sydney lose to Geelong, then third and fourth place could only be filled by St K, Bulldogs or Dockers.

Considering the number of injuries we've had to our best 25 players, its remarkable that we're in 5th. From here destiny is in our hands. The Dogs have had a near full squad all year and that goes for Saints, Pies and Cats. But don't dare say that to the Vics. All I say is I'll be loving this September.

They certainly are.
Fremantle can now finish third with 15 wins.
CATS, COLL, FREO, SAINTS.

Well, all we have to do is prove that we're back this Sunday by smashing the Weegirls and keeping them below 5 goals. If we can keep them below 5 goals then that will certainly speak yards for our revived backline.

Well to be fair - Geelong are the only side in top 4 who can really say they have had some injuries. Some of their losses though have been suspensions. I think Freo is like one of the only team in not to have lost a player to suspension? St Kilda haven't had it too bad, but they lost Roosy for several weeks so the media thought St's were the harddoneby team of the comp. Freo and Sydney have I think had the hardest run of injuries from top 8 sides.
Freo have done well to hold 5th spot given their injuries.

On "AFL Teams" this week they said the "top 5" teams (meaning, incorrectly but revealingly, Pies, Cats, Saints, Bullies and Hawks) had a total of 9 top level players out between them. We alone had eight. I keep banging on about it, but there's never been a team so injury-hit as this year's Dockers, and the boys deserve some credit, or at least acknowledgment, for managing a break-out season under such adversity.

Ironically Zorro that is the situation that could see Fremantle play Geelong in the Grand Final.
I was told once to not waste time worrying about things over which I have no control.
So, I derive a sense of perverse pleasure when I hear tales of the media indulging their Victorian market to the total exclusion of Freo.
I convince myself that Mark Harvey prefers things to remain just as they are.
There is a psyche building of Freo versus the world and I like that as the Dockers Battle Cry .
I think that would also sit very comfortable with Mark Harvey.
As Freo now can seriously plan a strategy for the finals the contemptuous media are aiding us. Paradoxically, the less we are seen and heard the more visible and dangerous we become.

Yeah .... I certainly agree with that last sentence MCleody.
If non of the media are mentioning Freo in Finals then all the players will probably ease off and consequently we'll just walk all over them.
GO FREO

Its no coincidence that outside the inner sanctum of freo oval, there will always be a lack of acknowledgement to Fremantle. After all we have not tasted success in 16 years. That goes for Collingwood, Saints and Dogs. Go figure!!!!
