The Chinese say it’s the year of the horse, the UN have declared it the year of Crystallography (presumably after Ban Ki-moon watched the box set of Breaking Bad over at Bono’s house one weekend) but for your Australian Rules Football aficionados it’s quite clearly the year of the Docker (although probably not for actual dockers because the commission of audit are coming for them). The Fremantle Dockers, so close in 2013, are destined for greatness in 2014 and, based on most expert analysis, can pretty much claim the cup at this point. So confident are they that they’re on the right track, they’ve barely even bothered to change the team over the summer, with a couple of your switchable players switched about and Zac Clarke sitting out with an injury. Collingwood have presumably made some changes since their debacle of a season last year but remembering their names is just going to fill up parts of your memory that should be reserved for premiership highlights later in the year.
