After a long summer watching sport, racing his horse and taking photos of sunsets, oh and something about a child, Matthew Pavlich will pull the purplish coloured jumper back on this weekend and go for a trot down at the Ballantyne Arena.
With Northam getting one hell of a wakeup call after the AFL declaring it wasn't suitable for an AFL game but Mandurah was, Fremantle will play an untelevised game of football at Rushton Park while everyone involved will do their best to pretend that they still care about the pre-season competition.
After the touch up against Carlton last week, this will be Fremantle's last game for the NAB Cup with the real stuff almost here so they've named themselves a decent footy side to make the most of things.
Pav will be joined by Chris Mayne in the forward line, Hayden Ballantyne will also be back but he is presumably contractually obliged to play on the Hayden Ballantyne wing.
Stephen Hill and Michael Barlow will be back, and Nat Fyfe is expected to play this week after having last week off, even though he was seen at the ground in his gear. Briefly.
The game will cost you $25 dollars to get into, presumably there's an open bar or some sort of buffet included in that price and kicks of at 3:30Pm or, as it's known in Mandurah, Brunch time. If you can't get there or don't have time to organise a personal loan to get in, you can listen in on ABC Radio or that charity station that provides mentally handicapped people with employment opportunities.
