Fremantle coach Ross Lyon says he doesn’t think his side is at a major disadvantage from not doing the much-hyped altitude training during the pre-season.
Carlton and St Kilda have joined a growing list of clubs travelling overseas for the altitude training brought into vogue by Collingwood several years ago.
Speaking during the Dockers pre-season training at Fremantle Oval this morning, Lyon said he hadn’t put a lot of thought into it but knew it cost a lot of money.
“I can’t quite get my hands on it here to get it done but I back in our sports science guys,” he said.
“We have certainly got some altitude facilities and tents and those things but we have channelled (the money) into other areas.
“We are really confident that we are not at a huge disadvantage.”
