Fremantle defender Alex Silvagni could miss the first game of next season after being offered a one-match ban for headbutting Jared Petrenko.
The Docker was charged with a level three misconduct offence, which was graded as intentional, low impact and high contact.
It drew 250 demerit points but Silvagni has no existing good or bad record and with an early plea it reduces the sanction to 187.50 points and a one-match ban.
It compounded a poor semi-final outing for Silvagni, who had five goals kicked on him by star Crow Taylor Walker at AAMI Stadium on Friday night.
In the only other incident looked at by the match review panel, livewire forward Hayden Ballantyne was cleared for his contact on Luke Thompson.
