Hopefully we set them up here, show interest in McDonald so they pay him a heap and then can’t pay Warner enough so we pick him up.

4 goals for the year from Brayshaw, Serong and Fyfe just doesn’t cut it. Historically they are not goal kicking midfielders. They are great players in their own right but the mix just isn’t right in there. Bringing Young in has helped but we need a shakeup through the middle.

From memory, he did that last week Cletus and that didn’t work either. He marked about 35mt out on a slight angle, tried to handball but missed the target and Sydney turned it over.

Our 3 first round picks for this year will more than likely be in the teens, I don't think 2 of those will be enough for one of the best mids in the comp that's still in contract. Our best hope is probably next year when he is a restricted free , but we would need to offer a significant amount given Sydney can match any bid, another factor at play here is do we have the cap space to do that given our recent list decisions? We can't have our cake and eat it, doesn't work like that.

Surely we should be keeping some of those first round picks so we can get any local talent onto our list like maybe Bo Allen. He may not be considered top 10 material by the scouts but he could probably go in the 10 to 20 pick zone which is where our first round picks are likely to be. It does seem silly to me that we hang out for local talent to filter through 80 picks and we just assume that we might pick them up as a rookie and then watch other clubs pounce on the main draft and develop them into good AFL footballers who we then want to recruit back to WA.

But they've also got McInerney, Adams and Rowbottom. And Luke Parker who can't get a game, maybe we should try for Angus Sheldrick who has played pretty well when given a chance but is stuck in a logjam for a spot in the seniors. Plus he fits our age demographic as well or we could try giving Will Brodie a game.
