Like a Boxing Day lunch, Fremantle have feasted on AFL leftovers in the 2009 Also Ran drafts. After screwing Essendon over and burning down the clubrooms on his way out, Adam McPhee had his name called out by Fremantle to officially make him a Docker again and hopefully begin his rehabilitation to become a footballer again instead of the some sort of ironic fashion model. As well as McPhee, Fremantle picked up two new Rookies with Mark Harvey scouring the VFL for players that had snuck under the collective guards of the Victoria clubs, taking two of the casino state's finest.

While normally a very matter of fact affair, there was a hint of controvery bubble under the surface which could be the beginings of a long standing, bitter fued between the Dockers and Essendon. Still sour that Fremantle took Mark Harvey and Tony Delaney from them, then Kepler Bradley, Dean Solomon and now Adam McPhee, the Bombers swooped in and took Kyle Hardingham in the pre-season draft after he'd spent the past few weeks training with Fremantle.

Mark Harvey knows a cheap shot when he sees one and Essendon made the foolish mistake of thinking the Fremantle coach would stay out of the muck. Not to be out done then, Fremantle used their first draft pick to steal VFL superstar Michael Barlow, who's was tipped to go straight to Essendon, from under their noses.

A tall midfielder who likes a goal (as they all do), Barlow was the runner up in the modern day equivilent to the Sandover Medal. The 21 yeal old is quite quick, gets a lot of the ball and meaures in at 189cm.

Seeing that Fremantle were going to be bullied, Matthew Knights quickly backed down and poached a player from South Australia instead, so Fremantle were free to pick up another of their interns, Alex Silvangi with their second and final draft pick. Known as Scos (Second Cousin of Steve), Silvangi has also been starring in the VFL this year.

The Dockers are expected to try and turn Scos into another tall midfielder, joining in the continuing AFL wide search for the next Kouta.
